PostSubject: A Dance with Death (Closed Aila and Lance)   Mon Sep 17, 2012 3:41 pm

Lance walked the streets of Magnolia in a slow peaceful pace. The sky held a half moon, while the lights from the city made it hard to see the stars. There were a few clouds but it was mainly a clear night sky. Lance was making his way to a large ball being held at Mr. Alanders mansion. Mr. Alanders was a wealthy man of Magnolia who rarely seemed to come outside, it had been years since most had seen him. His family was one of the first in Magnolia and they all seemed to have the same streak, none ever seemed to be very sociable , so him throwing a large ball for some of the richest in Magnolia was a big deal. The authorities didn't seem to trust him though so they hired Lance to go snoop around and make sure nothing shady was going on. Lance didn't feel like going to this ball alone so he sent Moki out to give Aila a letter asking her if she wanted to join him. He was wearing a black tuxedo with a white vest and a white tie with hints of light purple in it as well. The small bit of purple complemented his tattoo and the highlights in his hair.

He reached the corner that he was supposed to meet Aila first. The street lamp illuminated the area around him. He sat down on a bench and waited for his "date" to arrive. They both were given fake names that were put on the list. Lance's false name was Alex Ramsly, he wasn't sure what Aila's name was that was something only she was told. He was supposed to mingle with some of the higher clientele while keeping a watchful eye on Mr. Alanders and make sure he does not do anything funny. If he did they were supposed to intervene and alert the authorities. Sounded simple and easy, plus he got to party at the same time it was a win, win situation. He hoped Aila would arrive their soon so all the good food at the party wasn't taken.

Exposed. She felt ridiculously exposed. Sure the request had called for her to dress up and try to fit in with society types, but rich people liked to wear cloaks sometimes right? To wear such a simple orchid colored dress was asking too much. Even worse was that the dress was sleeveless! What was the dress's designer thinking!

The only thing she enjoyed were the shoes. She had opted for some small heels that boosted her height just a little bit. Already she felt tall, as though she was still growing. The tradeoff was her mobility, she couldn't carry herself with the same light movements as she usually did. But that wasn't really an issue. She was a requip mage after all, she'd have these troublesome things gone with a single thought if the need arose.

Soon she spotted her "date" Lance. He seemed to fit this rich guy stuff much better than she did. His appearance, speech, and even the way he carried himself seemed to draw up visions of wealth. He appeared to be waiting for her on a nearby bench, and didn’t appear to be nervous in the slightest about the mission at hand. I mean they were looking for a rather powerful being after all.

“Good evening Alex she said with a smile as she walked towards the bench. Ah wait she had seen this before… now she was supposed to say “I hope you didn’t wait long”. Aila knew that it wasn’t necessary to begin the charade just yet, but it was rather fun to do so. It was like they were spies infiltrating an enemy base or something.

She attempted to pick up the pace and nearly tripped two steps later. Heels were pretty troublesome. After regaining her composure she calmly walked the rest of the way to the bench and sat down next to him.

“So, what’s the plan for the mission?”

Lance smell Aila coming from a mile away. Her perfume that she was wearing masked her normal scent a bit but it was still there. She looked cute in her dress but a bit nervous, he would have to make sure that she felt comfortable while they were at the ball. Maybe he would need to stay by her side so that no old crone tried to make her feel nervous. Both of them were capable mages that could beat those that mocked them to a pulp. But for now he wore a friendly smile. He rose from the bench grabbing Aila's hand and making her do a little twirl so he could see her whole outfit. She picked a lovely dress that would fit the part just fine. Aila you look as beautiful as ever. We shall fit in perfectly. Now lets head to the ball, I'll give the basic information as we head there, it should be a ten minuet walk at most."

At that Lance let go of Aila's hand and began to walk down the street away from the safety of the streetlamp and into the shadows of Magnolia's cold streets. In a hush tone he began to explain the request to Aila. " This man Mr. Alanders never shows himself, nor did any of his relatives when they were alive. Their family somehow manages to stay incredibly wealthy. There is something weird going on here, we need to go into the party and see if we can find any incriminating evidence. Or at the very least see if we can get any leads on illegal activities." By the time he had explained the basics of the request they were already half way there, he hoped Aila understood everything since he wouldn't have much time to explain it all again.

PostSubject: Re: A Dance with Death (Closed Aila and Lance)   Mon Sep 17, 2012 6:10 pm

Aila’s face was still flushed as they approached the mansion. To be twirled around like that and called beautiful was a bit beyond her usual experience. She wished just a little bit harder that she could hide behind the hood of her cloak, but Lance was counting on her. She took a few deep breaths and grabbed onto Lance’s arm as they approached the door. She quickly forced a smile as they took their names “Mira Norren” she said in as dignified of a tone as she could muster up.

“Ah of course, Mr. Ramsly and Ms. Norren” the man eyed her suspiciously “Hm. I expected you to be taller.” He muttered beneath his breath. “Please enter” he said in the fake welcoming tone he had been using before.

Aila chose to ignore the insult for now, she’d get revenge later should they be forced to shut this place down.

Never before had she felt so out of place. All around her were the elites of the town, beautiful people with wealth and status, and then there was her, the guildless mage. While most of these people had a magic of some kind they were never forced to use it. Why work when you have generation after generation of inheritance under your belt.

Butlers and maids moved around the room like the wind carrying trays of small finger foods and glasses of wine. People wouldn’t even acknowledge them. They might as well have been moving tables with the way they were being treated.

This feeling that she didn’t belong brought that exposed feeling back to the forefront of her mind. She really did want to hide like usual. ‘No, I’m on a job’ this mantra played through her head again and again. Soon she realized that her grip on Lance’s arm had become rather tight. With a start she released his arm.

“Ah, sorry” she said with a small bow “I was a little… distracted”

She had to relax and find this Alanders guy. Who cares what his snooty friends thought...

They were able to slip into the ball with no eyebrows being raised. The inside of the mansion looked just as elegant as it did on the outside. The halls were painted a soft hue of gold while the carpet was a deep red, and dozens of crystal chandeliers hug from the ceiling. There was a band playing somewhere deeper into the home but from the coat room Lance could just make out the sounds of instrument.

As the two entered the main room Lance was getting antsy. It had been awhile since he had been to such a large party and the inner social butterfly in him wanted out. But he was on a job and couldn't leave Aila alone with these people, even the most beautiful people could be the cruelest. As they walked into the room a small man in a butler outfit came up to them with a tray of champagne. Lance took the flute and took a small sip.

As he looked at those at the ball he notice a few of the people looked rather pale and sickly. They also had a bit different smell than normal humans. Something was indeed up, he wasn't sure what was going on but he was alert and ready for the first sign of trouble, as he assumed Aila was as well.

The music was a twist on an older song that seemed familiar to Lance, though he couldn't remember what it was, maybe it was just a melody from a distant memory. There were a few people that danced but it seemed to be mainly a mingling party. Soon Lance's ear perked to the sound of a glass being struck by something. There stood Mr. Alanders right in front of everybody. He too had a pale look about him making Lance even more nervous on what was about to happen.

"Good evening everyone. Welcome to the party. I see many familiar and unfamiliar faces in the crowd this evening. Let me say what an honor it is to have you here this evening."

As Mr. Alanders started his speech something was happening to Lance. He felt sick almost. His legs felt woozy, and his vision seemed to be fading. He had been drugged! He raised his hand to his hand trying to call up his magic so he could cleanse himself of the toxins, but it was too late.

"I see in some of our guest faces that the sleeping drug is taking effect. Let me go ahead and wrap this speech up. You see I gathered you people here for three reasons, to ransom, to feed, and to sell. Myself and a few of my friends here are part of another species that will take over Magnolia in do time. This ball was to just be a kick start to that plan."

Lance couldn't resit the drug any longer, for all he knew Mr. Alanders speech went on for another hour. The last thing Lance could remember though was seeing a few people collapsing to the ground, before he too collapsed. This request just got a heck of alot harder. He couldn't see Aila when he was collapsing, but he hoped that she would be ok.

The world turned to a blur as the man’s words faded. To pack something like this into a cup of water without any sort of change in taste, just who were these guys? She looked over to Lance, it took a moment for the world to stop spinning and her eyes to focus enough to see him. It seemed as though he was suffering from the same drug as her.

Aila’s mind attempted to grasp at her pocket dimension but she just couldn’t see it. It was a truly terrifying feeling, like she had lost a limb. The next instinct to switch o was the idea of escape, but that proved even harder. One attempted step in those heels sent her to the ground. The world seemed to spin even faster for a moment and then everything went dark.

She awoke with a start. Her eyes caught only darkness with a sliver of light managing to pierce the left side of a rather hastily prepared blindfold. She attempted to remove the thing but found that her hands were bound rather tight. Her mind was racing as fast as it could. This, unfortunately for her, wasn’t very fast. It felt as though she had just awoken from the deepest sleep in the world and her mind was still addled. A headache further hindered her thoughts. She attempted to relax. She had to escape and find Lance, he could be worse off than her.

Several deep breaths passed through her body as she waited for the drug to run its course. Her one available eye spotted the forms of various other women all in various states of disarray. It seemed as though they had taken a bit more of the drug than her. Outside she could hear a few guards speaking of their fate. Apparently they were to be sold to the highest bidder. This was all the more reason for her to rush and attempt to free everybody.

Her inner eye caught sight of the image of a scythe. It was blazing red and attached to a dagger as black as ashes. She felt her mind reach out for it, call it to this place, and in a flash of blazing red her magic made it so.

The heat immediate seared the bindings on her arms. Once those were free she set to work on the other bindings. Her mind next caught sight of a black cloak that shrouded the face of its owner. Another burst of magic and the fancy outfit from before gave way to a black shirt and matching shorts shrouded in the flowing darkness of the cloak.

She quickly burned through the bindings of the other captives and made her way to the door. Taking a deep breath she grasped the scythe in her right hand with the dagger in her left. The burning weapon made short work of the metal door. Almost immediately two guards attempted to grab her. She crouched and kicked forward stopping herself with her hand when she met the wall. This hallway was a little too narrow to make full use of her chain scythe but she’d have to make do. One guard dashed forward but his form was easily exploited. She brought the blunt end of the dagger up against the man’s elbow forcing his fist into the wall. When he retracted his fist in pain she leapt and delivered a sharp blow to his head with the blunt end of the scythe. The second guard attempted to run but with a simple toss the dagger stuck into the wall, his feet hooked the attached chain and sent him sprawling to the floor. He received the same treatment as his buddy and then both were tossed into a room. She locked the door with one of the keys on their belts.

Aila took off down the hall and found a flight of stairs, which appeared to lead back to the ballroom. But she didn’t see Lance yet…

PostSubject: Re: A Dance with Death (Closed Aila and Lance)   Mon Sep 17, 2012 9:12 pm

Lance woke to the sound of someone coughing. As his eyes opened he noticed that he was no longer in the ball room but now in some smaller red room. He couldn't make out what was going on at first. His vision almost felt as if somebody was smoking in the room because of how hazy it seemed to be. The drug must not have worn completely off yet. There seemed to be others about him since he could feel the movement of someones foot in his back side.

Eventually after a few minuets of trying to collect himself he notice that there seemed to be several people around him, most were fully awake with the remaining stirring from their slumber now. He now noticed that there was a shackle around his left wrist, it was attached to a chain bolted to the wall. Shit he was trapped, though this chain should break rather easy. He would have done it without a moments notice until he saw the two guards sitting at a table a few feet in front of the hostages.

The men were some of the pale guest he noticed earlier. But he figured that they were part of it after the drug took effect. They walked over to the group kicking one of the other men right in the chest forcing him to go into a coughing fit. "Well looks like everybody is awake now. Well guys we hate to say this but all of you will become our food, so who wants to go first?" The man looked smug and acted better than the rest of them. Lance was about to show him who was really in charge of this situation.

"If you are going to kill us all anyways I rather go first and not witness the others dying if possible." Lance was already preparing him magical power for when the two men would release him. He had to make sure that the others wouldn't get wrapped up in the assault.

"Well looks like one of you is smart at least. Don't worry this will all be over soon." They reached for Lance's shackle inserting the key into the lock freeing him from the chains. Now it was time for the fun to start.

"Sorry guys but I'm not your average snack." The magical circle appeared beneath his feet. Soon four orbs shot from the ground striking the two men clearly in the face knocking both to the ground. Lance saw his chance then. He brought the full force of his foot down on one of their chest. He could feel their ribs snap under the pressure. The man seemed to pass out due to the immense pain.

As the other man got up from the ground he charged at Lance. Lance could only smirk. This guy didn't know who Lance was but he was about to make sure that this man would not forget. Lance clinched his right hand in fist bringing it back completely. As the man was within arm reach of Lance he let the punch fly hitting the man right where the magical hit seconds earlier, making him collapse to the ground unconscious.

"Well that was easy." Lance grabbed the key chain that the man used to free him and unshackled the rest of the hostages. He put each man in four shackles, one around each limb. He didn't want them to go anywhere until the authorities had shown up.

He slipped out of the room walking down a long dim lit hallway. He came to a balcony looking down onto the main ball room. As he looked down he noticed a young woman slipping out of another doorway. He couldn't tell at first but as she made her way closer to the light of the ballroom he could see it was Aila. He let out a sigh of relief. There was a stairwell a few feet away that lead straight to the ground floor. Lance made his decent, trying to regroup with Aila as quick as possible.

As his feet hit the ground level he darted as quietly as possible to her. He kept his voice in a hush tone so that if there were other guards around they wouldn't hear them, hopeful the two could rescue the rest of the hostages and end Mr. Alanders' cruel plan. "Aila your safe! Are you ok?"

So it turns out Aila belonged here a bit more than she previously thought. If she had let her insecurities take over all of those people would be sold. She clenched her fist, that was just it wasn’t it? What about all of the times she hadn’t been there...? How many people had this man sold? His family has had this wealth for generation and each of them had been just as reclusive as the last… Aila shook her head; thinking too deeply wasn’t going to stop this guy. No, she had to end this legacy tonight.

Just as she started to pick up her pace and continue down the hallway she heard a familiar voice. A smile instantly spread across her face. She had been pretty sure that Lance would be ok, but seeing it with her own eyes just made it even better. She turned “Yeah, me and the other captives are fine” she said “What about you? Did you resist the drug or something?” She didn’t remember seeing him when she freed the captives. Maybe his healing magic allowed him to escape?

“Awwww how cute” a mocking tone echoed down the hallway “The two escapees know eachother”. Aila’s hand gripped her weapon tight. A feeling of dread seemed to creep over the hallway. Slowly a series of clicks approached however as the clicks got louder the darkness grew larger. Soon the entire hallway was blanketed in shadows. From within the darkness a woman appeared.

Her dress and hair had a wispy blackness about them. They appeared to be one with the shadows. As if to betray this ominous appearance she wore a rather large smile on her face. One wouldn’t immediately think of the smile as malicious however the aura of dread that accompanied the woman herself spoke volumes. “I’m afraid I’ll have to take you two back now.” The smile disappeared from her face as she spoke “You’ve done quite enough and my Master isn't pleased.” With that she lifted her hand and out burst a black beam directed at Aila.

It was fast but it appeared to be too predictable. With a simple spin the attack flew by and continued down the hall. Still spinning Aila released her hold on the scythe and allowed the chain to extend. The blade of the scythe burst into its usual red color as its owner fluidly redirected its force downward upon the woman.

The woman took a quick leap backward narrowly dodging the blade and redirected her attention towards Lance. The same energy as before rippled through her hand and burst out towards him. Placing her foot against the wall Aila performed a simple kick, propelling her towards the beam. At the same time she triggered her spell. Several black tendrils erupted from her cloak and absorbed the shock of the beam leaving the two unharmed. Aila’s own darkness effectively prevented the hostile woman from seeing Lance, giving him the perfect chance for a counterattack.

His reunion with his friend was interrupted rather rudely by some wretched women. She seemed to have targeted Aila right off the bat not waiting to exchange any formal greetings. The dark magical energy she gathered in her hand went straight to Aila, but she was quicker than the woman's attack. She dodged it will little effort. In the same movement to dodge Aila was able to release her grip on her scythe sending it flying to the woman. Unlucky for them she was able to avoid that attack just as easy as Aila avoided her's.

The woman's eyes glared at Lance before she even landed back on the ground after jumping back. She raised her hand into the air shooting off the dark energy blast once more. Before Lance could even raise his hand to counter the attack Aila jumped in-between him and the shot. The second he saw her moving to do this he changed the magic he was bringing forth. As Aila's spell cloaked the two from the blast Lance made his move. Ten orbs of light shot out being translucent straight threw Aila and right to the woman. As the orbs got in range Lance snapped his finger. "Thanks Aila, perfect timing"

Before Lance could even finish his speech the orbs light become intense followed by several explosions. Both Lance and Aila were far away enough to where they would not feel the attacks blast. "This fight is over Aila. There's no way that she will be standing after that."

Sure enough the woman was kneeling on the ground panting her body was covered in blisters and burns. It looked as if her right leg was no longer useful at all, Lance could see the bone penetrating from the side. "Now why don't you tell us where your boss is and I'll leave you for the authorities like the others."

The woman laughed. She choked on her own blood while she laughed making her sound even more sinister. "Like I'd tell you anything." As she raised her hand a blast of dark energy shot forth obscuring Lance's vision of the woman. We he was able to see again he saw her limping into a back room. She was already closing the door by the time he even noticed her, how she was able to move that quickly with a broken leg he couldn't tell.

" Let's head to that door where she went Aila. Be on guard though it could be a trap." Lance took the lead entering the room first. As he entered the room he saw another door a few yards away but more importantly the other guest who were hostages. They quickly freed the other hostages and opened the next door which lead to another large empty room.

The wall were lined with chains. and there was a drain in the center of the floor. The ground was stain a blood red, there were two other doors in the room one to the left and one to the right. There stood in the middle of the room was Mr. Alanders himself. He was glowing with a wicked blood red aura making his pale skin seem to look devilish. It was time for the show down between the three to begin.

A heavy chill overcame the girl as she entered the room. How many people had died here? ad begged for mercy from this monster only to have their blood used to paint the floor of this ominous looking place.

The chain scythe let out a bright glow as it disappeared into her pocket dimension. In it's place came a spear, it's blade filled with tiny sparks of lightning. She took a more aggressive stance than usual. 'How many women, children, mothers, father, grandparentts...' the list went on in her head. Why did they have to die because of a guy like this? So that he could stay wealthy? Powerful? Her hand gripped the shaft of the spear tightly. She felt sick to her stomach just looking at this guy, but she couldn't let herself be overcome by emotion. No... Lance was counting on her.

The man seemed to barely regard the mages as they entered. His cold eyes seemed to look through them and at first he didn't say a word. Aila peered back at the man. Sudden;y realization hit. That woman had run in here... so where was sh-

Aila's eyes snapped open as a blood red spear burst from the darkness. So that was the plan. Distract them with their target and attack while their focus was elsewhere. Aila clenched her teeth. It was rather simple to dodge so desperate of an attack, however had she lost her cool and lunged for the man in the beginning she might not have been as lucky.

She kicked forward, making sure to keep her body low. With a hard bash with the shaft of the spear she sent the blood lance upward and into the wall. However, she wasn't done yet. The woman tried to move but with her leg inured she just couldn't outpace the requip mage. She continued her dash and struck the woman on her head as hard as she could muster. This sent her flying back, either unconscious or dead. Aila didn't have time to check.

Apparently the woman's master found humor in his minions defeat. He began to chuckle and the laugh grew more and more. "Ahh much more interesting this week huh?" he said still chuckling beneath his breath "First two people escape" His eyes looked from Aila to Lance "and then I see this rubbish get cleaned from beneath me" He smiled as he looked to his defeated minion's crumpled form. "I believe I'll have you two replace her" He continued "You seem powerful enough." He bared his fangs.

With an inhuman quickness he burst in Aila's direction. Before she could even react he performed a slashing motion with his claws. However, the enchantment on the cloak activated and caused the damage to weaken slightly. Aila skid back a few steps before firmly planting her feet on the ground. Again the man attempted to attack her with that same speed. This time Aila was a little more prepared and met his blow with a swing from her spear. As his hand rebounded she triggered her spell. A torrent of lightning struck the man dead center and sent him flying back. The man simply smiled as he stood once more. The attack was lightning based so he soon found his body a bit slower than before.

Aila attempted to continue her assault but flinched as she attempted to move. The attack from before had hit her quite a bit harder than she had realized. Nothing was broken, but the pain prevented her body from moving as it pleased.

The battle started quicker than Lance anticipated. Once again the enemy targeted Aila, but she proved to be ready. The man was able to get in a quick blow but as he was coming back for seconds Aila seemed to have been waiting for it. She launched a cone of lightning at the man. The electricity seemed to stay on his body. His movements looked a bit slower but the blood red aura around him seemed like it was preventing the lightning's effect to fully take over.

This man seemed fast and strong. He was about to see who was the fastest out of the two. Just as Lance was about to activate his light speed the man's attention seemed to turn to him. A blast of darkness magic flew at Lance. It was quicker than the woman's attack for sure. Though the attack was quick and Lance had not activated light speed his reflexes were still too quick for it. Lance was able to roll to the side, he watched as the blast of darkness crashed into their tile wall shattering parts of it. Surely that move would have done some serious damage if it hit.

"Ai, I'm going to stop his movements for a second when I do make your move." At that Lance ran straight to Mr. Alanders. He was itching to try out his new ability. Two smaller white circles appeared around each wrist. Soon his hand was coated in claws made out of pure light. Lance knew without light speed his normal attack would be too slow to hit Mr. Alander's with the speed he had, so Lance was going to get creative. As he ran to him Lance started to focus on the light around him. He started warping it making parts of his body appear to be in different locations.

While he was attacking with a straight slash at Mr. Alander's mid section, the light he was manipulating made it seem that he was coming after his side. Just having one scratch on the man and he would have to deal with Lance's attacks after effect. His attack would have the ability to temporarily stun the man by leaving a holy stigma on his body. He wasn't sure how long the stigma would last but even a second would be enough for Aila to bring her spear down on the man.

Mr. Alander's did exactly what Lance expected. The man brought his arms up to protect his side leaving his stomach wide open. Lance's claws were able to rip right through his cloths searing them as he cut. The claws were able to break the skin of Mr. Alanders but sealed up the wounds before they could bleed out. As his claws sliced through a magical seal appeared on Mr. Alander's stomach, the stigma had formed, it was now Aila's turn to finish the man off. Lance quickly bounced a few steps back out of arm reach with the man, he dismissed his claws as well, there was no point in wasting magic power. He was ready for any attack that the man might have up his sleeve.

Her body felt heavy and her left side was heavily protesting any form of movement. However she pushed through it and forced herself to stand. She took a cleansing breath as she watched lance fight. The dragon slayer was definitely fast. His spells seemed varied and incredibly useful. It wasn't long before he had the vampire paralyzed and called for her to finish him.

She tested the spears weight on her arm. It was still quite sore but she could muster through it. Another cleansing breath escaped her lips and with it went all of the pain. Her mind focused on the target at hand. Her left hand joined the right on the spear shaft and she dashed in for the finishing blow. The blood-stained walls appeared as blurs in her peripherals but her focus was maintained.

This guy had to pay for what he had done, there was no reasoning with a man like this and prison would never change him. She'd have to show him the same amount of mercy that he had shown to his meals. With a single thrust she forced the spear through... the assistant? The next attack struck her hard and sent her flying back into a wall. Various colors painted her blurred vision as she lifted her head. What she saw was horrid.

The vampire had grabbed his own assistant and used her as a barrier. Aila's spear had pierced through and left a sizable wound in his chest, but it wasn't quite deep enough to end him. In the assistant's chest was a large hole through which he had fired that last attack. If it wasn't for her cloak she would most likely be sporting a similar hole through her own chest.

The vampire simply stood there, his blood red eyes looking furious. He was panting heavily and his hand was clasped over the wound on his chest. "You fools" he said between gasps for breath "You fools will pay for this" His aura seemed to be weakening despite his threats. In a flash he burst into a mad dash and escaped the room. His movements were ridiculously fast, perhaps even faster than before. "One day..." His voice echoed down the hallway "I will devour you!"

Aila managed to stand but that was as far as she got. Any hopes of chasing after him were dashed the moment she tried to run forward. The blow to the head and affected her balance rather heavily, and after only a couple unsteady steps she fell to her knees. By now the man would be long gone... The world began to fade to black.

"Sorry Lance"

As Aila closed in for the kill the man did something unspeakable, he used his own ally as a human shield taking the brute force of the blow. Lance had seen others do this before but never in this bloody of a situation. As the man made his escape Lance started to head for the door he exited when he noticed Aila collapsing. The attack the man made must have been more intense on her than Lance realized. He quickly changed his path hastily heading to Aila. He laid her out as if she was sleeping. As she laid there Lance put his hand on her head giving off a soft glowing light.

He could feel the pain in her body. It wasn't anything threatening but she would have a nasty bruise in the morning and a killer headache if Lance didn't treat her. Once taht was done and Aila was peacefully resting Lance walked over to the corpse of the women. He saw how her body features were slightly different than his; her teeth were fang like, her nails were closer to claws than a humans, then he saw inside her. The organs were nothing like a humans, or at least any that he had saw. They were coated in a dark black goo that he guessed was her version of blood, it smelt like death itself, her body was rotting away quicker than a normal body should. What were these creatures and why would they feast on humans blood. Lance had heard of vampires in stories from abroad, this was very fishy.

Lance headed to the room that Mr. Alanders had escaped into. It seemed to be his office. There was a bookshelf swung open revealing a secret path that he must had used to escape. Lance sat down in the plush chair. He started to look through the desk and the file cabinet beside it. The papers he found held information that he could not even fathom. While some of it was readable most of it was in another language that Lance was not familiar with. As he sat there he could hear the footsteps of a few people approaching. He knew that they were not dangerous though, he had been expecting the authorities for some time now. He would leave the files for them to handle.

After talking to the authorities for a few minuets telling them what all had happened Lance went to where Aila had been laying. He scooped her up and piggy back carried her to where she was staying. He laid her down in her bed, she should wake up in the morning feeling good as new. He left the reward that some of the richer captives had paid for her. His was resting nice in his pocket. The request which he thought was going to be boring and uneventful turned out to be quiet something. Lance headed back to the guild ready to collapse himself, he was exhausted.
